St. Louis Community College

In UI427: Service & Community, I completed my volunteer experience at the St. Louis Community College in Wildwood, Missouri. I worked closely with the Campus Life & College Transition Coordinator to adapt and develop delivery methods as online instruction becomes essential to higher education due to the pandemic. For the near future, COVID-19 will continue to have a profound impact on the educational system, forcing administrators, professors, and students to continue to adjust the learning experience and campus life.

During my volunteer experience, I filmed a video series featuring various members of faculty and staff to be shared with incoming students at welcome week and orientation. The goal of this video project was to communicate and establish a sense of comfort and security among students throughout the transition to an online community during a time of uncertainty in the world.

Senior Capstone

Our client for MC418: Advertising Campaigns was Southeast Missouri State University’s Marketing. One of our objectives was to promote and increase awareness for Giving Day.

The Kick-Off Video is the first video shown to promote Giving Day. The goal of this video is to educate our target market on the twelve projects and to encourage them to donate to Giving Day. This video is intended to get everyone excited about donating and raising money to hit our goal.

The second video of this series is a Thank You Video from our students, faculty and staff to our donors. The goal of this video is to show our appreciation to our donors for their support and generosity. Our donors help students achieve their goals and dreams.

Another objective was to promote and increase awareness of I love SEMO Week for our client, Southeast Missouri State University Marketing.

The Thank A Professor Video would be shown on the Wednesday of I Love SEMO Week to honor our faculty and staff. This video displays the impact that a professor can have on a student at Southeast.

The videos were approximately 2 to 3 minutes featuring comments and opinions from Southeast students on campus. The lighthearted nature of the videos was designed to increase campus engagement in a unique way.

Alpha Phi

Being appointed Director of Video for Alpha Phi opened many doors for me. Without this position, I wouldn’t have had the experience of holding a position as Multimedia Editor for the Southeast Arrow or freelancing for the Southeast Missourian.

During my term in office, my goal was to produce quality videos for Alpha Phi that gave a glimpse into our sisterhood. This was a top priority as a founding chapter member because it allowed us to promote our chapter in a positive light and recruit new members with the same ideals shared among us.
